This week’s featured song is “One More I Love You” by Alex Warren. I think it is a perfect song to help deal with all the lose I have have encountered this year. The past two months, particularly since the start of 2025, have been overwhelming, filled with sadness and tragedy. Adulthood presents greater challenges than adolescence, as adults often feel compelled to suppress their emotions to avoid discomfort for others. The pain of losing loved ones is exacerbated when multiple significant losses occur simultaneously, creating a profound sense of devastation. The saying about walking a mile in someone else’s shoes has resonated deeply with me this year, as each day has been a struggle against anger and tears. I am grateful for my role as a teacher, as my students inspire me to rise each morning with their kindness and respect. To cope with my heartbreak, I have turned to photography, seeking creative lesson ideas while capturing my sorrow through images. Although I wish for a moment of stillness to process everything, I recognize the need to keep moving forward. I am fortunate to have a strong support network of friends, a partner, and family, all of whom rely on each other during these trying times. This week’s photographs are among my best, particularly one featuring flowers in water, symbolizing new life after the winter’s dormancy. I appreciate the color palette, reflections, and water splashes in this image. This piece embodies a sense of rejuvenation, as the flower symbolizes the tree’s revival after winter dormancy, blossoming anew in spring. I appreciate the color scheme, reflections, and water splashes. The initial photograph features an infinity wall composed of mirrors, bricks, and flowers, where I instructed students on creating an image with mirrors that seems to extend indefinitely. Adjacent to it is a photograph that achieves a pleasing balance between focus and blur, showcasing a mirror that reflects the image of white flowers into the camera. The final image captures the yellow-green reflections in water, producing intriguing textured shapes in the droplets on the glass. I hope you find as much enjoyment in this as I have throughout the week. I will continue to persevere, as that is the only path to overcoming challenges. This too shall pass, and as my uncle always said, brighter days are ahead! Keep your chin up, Wilbur!
